November 19, 2021UK RETAIL SALES, OCTOBER 2021 The UK Office for National Statistics reports that UK retail sales increased in October 2021. Compared to February 2020, retail sales volume was 5.8% higher and value was 8.9% higher in October 2021.
- Month-over-month (October 2021 vs September 2021) retail sales value increased 1.6% and retail sales volume (adjusted for price changes) was up 0.8%.
- Year-over-year (October 2021 vs October 2020) retail sales value increased 2.8% and retail sales volume declined 1.3%.
- Year-to-date (Jan-Oct 2021 vs Jan-Oct 2020) retail sales value was up 8.2% and volume increased 6.2%.
Internet sales
- Online retail sales decreased by 0.6% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
- In October 2021, online sales share of all retail sales decreased to 27.3% from 28.1% in September 2021. Online sales share of all retail sales remains higher than the 19.7% in February 2020.
