EURO AREA CURRENT ACCOUNT, JANUARY 2022

 Month over month (Jan 2022 vs. Dec 2021, seasonally adjusted)

The European Central Bank reported today that the Euro Area (EA19) Net current account surplus narrowed by €29 million to €22.6 billion.

  • Net goods and services surplus widened by €217 million to €29.7 billion
  • Net primary income surplus narrowed by €881 million to €5.8 billion
  • Net secondary income deficit narrowed by €634 million to €12.9 billion

 

Net Services surplus narrowed by €2,412 million to €15.9 billion.

Net Goods surplus widened by €2,629 million to €13.8 billion.

  • Goods exports increased €612 million to €227.4 billion
  • Goods imports decreased €2,017 million to €213.6 billion
