Nova Scotia Sales by Establishment Type (Jan-Jun 2022 vs. Jan-Jun 2021, unadjusted)

**CORRECTION - a previous version included incorrect data for full service restaurants.  The corrected data appears below.**

Compared with Jan-Jun 2021, the gains in food service and drinking place receipts have been most pronounced for Nova Scotia's full-service restaurants. In percentage terms, the increases were also notable for special food services (such as mobile and catering) and drinking places.

Trends

Food services and drinking places have reported repeated downturns during imposition of COVID restrictions.  As these restrictions are eased, food service receipts rebound. Receipts for both Canada and Nova Scotia are above pre-pandemic February 2020 levels.
