JAPAN CURRENT ACCOUNT AND TRADE BALANCE, AUGUST 2022

Current Account (August 2022 vs July 2022)

The net current account decreased from a 629 billion yen deficit to a 530.5 billion yen deficit.

  • The net goods and services deficit widened by 512.1 billion yen to 29,381 billion yen.
  • The net primary income surplus widened by 478 billion yen to 2,514.3 billion yen.
  • The net secondary income deficit narrowed by 132.6 billion yen to 106.7 billion yen.

 

Trade Balance (August 2022 vs July2022)

The net goods deficit widened by 316 billion yen to 2,124.7 billion yen.

  • The goods exports increased 37.5 billion yen (0.4%) to 8,520.5 billion yen.
  • The goods imports increased 353.5 billion yen (3.4%) to 10,645.2 billion yen.

 

 

The net services deficit widened by 196.1 billion yen to 813.4 billion yen.
