March 22, 2023EURO AREA CURRENT ACCOUNT, JANUARY 2023 Month over month (Jan-23 vs Dec-22, seasonally adjusted)

The European Central Bank reported today that the Euro Area (EA20)
- Net current account surplus widened by €3.7 billion to €17.1 billion
- Net goods and services surplus widened by €4.1 billion to €25.3 billion
- Net primary income surplus narrowed by €4.6 billion to €0.7 billion
- Net secondary income deficit narrowed by €4.2 billion to €9.

Net services surplus narrowed by €0.9 billion to €13.8 billion.

Net goods surplus widened by €5.0 billion to €11.5 billion. Goods exports increased €5.9 billion to €252.6 billion. Goods imports increased €0.9 billion to €241.1 billion.
