UK CURRENT ACCOUNT, 2022Q4

Quarter vs quarter (2022Q4 vs 2022Q3)

Compared to the previous quarter, the United Kingdom Office of National Statistics reported that the net current account deficit narrowed by £10.3 billion to £2.5 billion.

  • net goods and service deficit narrowed by £3.8 billion to £6.8 billion
  • net primary income ssurplus increased by £6.8 billion to £9.8 billion
  • net secondary income deficit widened by £0.4 billion to £5.4 billion

Exports of goods decreased 0.2% (£0.2 billion) and imports of goods decreased 2.3% (£3.8 billion). As a result, net goods deficit narrowed by £3.6 billion to £45.3 billion.

Exports of services decreased 0.2% (£0.2 billion) and imports of services decreased 0.6% (£0.2 billion). As a result, net services surplus widened by £0.4 billion to £38.5 billion.
