June 13, 2023UK UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, FEBRUARY 2023 TO APRIL 2023 
The UK Office for National Statistics reported today that the unemployment rate for the three-month period February to April 2023, increased to 3.8% This was up from the 3.7% observedfrom Nov-Jan and unchanged compared to the same period a year ago. The UK unemployment rate is rising because labour force increases are outpacing growth in employment.
There were 1.305 million unemployed people in the UK, 5,000 more than from a year earlier. Employment in the UK was at 33.089 million, 382,000 more compared to a year earlier.
