UK GDP Q2 2023 (REVISED ESTIMATE)

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) released the second estimate of UK Gross Domestic Product (seasonally adjusted annualized rate) for Q2 2023 reported an increase of 0.8%, unchanged from the first estimate and up from the previous quarter. Compared to pre-pandemic quarter (Q4 2019), the UK economy is 1.8% larger in Q2 2023.

Services output was unchanged with positive consumer-facing service growth offset by decline in professional, scientific and technical services. Production was main driver to growth this quarter, with rising manufacturing - particularly transportation equipment. Construction output rose on repair and maintenance while new construction was down.
