November 03, 2023EU AND EURO AREA UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, SEPTEMBER 2023 
Eurostat has reported that the unemployment rate in the Euro Area increased from a 6.4% in August to a 6.5% in September 2023. For the broader 27 countries of the entire European Union, the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 6.0% in September 2023. In September, youth unemployment rate was 14.2% in the European Union and 14.0% in the Euro Area. Unemployment rate for women was 6.3% and 6.2% for men in the European Union in September. The Euro Area unemployment rate was stable in September 2023 compared to the previous month for women (6.8%) and men (6.2%).
Among EU member state economies, the unemployment rate was highest in Spain and Greece. Unemployment rates were lowest in Czechia, Malta, and Poland.
