In Nova Scotia,

  • Labour force decreased 100 (0.0%) to 538,700
  • Employment decreased 700 (-0.1%) to 502,300
  • Unemployment increased 700 (+2.0%) to 36,500
  • Unemployment Rate increased 0.2 percentage points to 6.8%


In Canada

  • Labour force increased 36,000 (+0.2%) to 21,553,000
  • Employment increased 24,900 (+0.1%) to 20,312,500
  • Unemployment increased 11,000 (+0.9%) to 1,240,400
  • Unemployment Rate increased 0.1 percentage points to 5.8%


In Halifax,  (3-month moving average) 

  • Labour force increased 1,200 (+0.4%) to 282,200
  • Employment increased 2,100 (+0.8%) to 265,700
  • Unemployment decreased 1,000 (-5.7%) to 16,500
  • Unemployment Rate decreased 0.4 percentage points to 5.8%

In Nova Scotia,
