PopulationBased on the 2011 Census of Population, Italy Cross has a population of 2,078 which is 7.4% higher than in 2001. In 2011, 21.2% of the population was under the age of 20 and 15.4% was 65 years or older.
In comparison, Nova Scotia has a population of 921,725 which is 1.5% higher than in 2001. 21.2% of the population was under the age of 20 and 16.6% was 65 years or older.
Median and Average IncomeIn 2006, the median income for individuals in Italy Cross was $23,041 a year, compared with the median of $24,030 for Nova Scotia. Families in Italy Cross had a median income of $57,756, compared with the median of $55,412 for Nova Scotia.

In 2006, the average income for individuals in Italy Cross was $28,828 a year, compared with the average of $31,795 for Nova Scotia. Families in Italy Cross had a average income of $61,174, compared with the average of $66,032 for Nova Scotia.
