CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, DECEMBER AND ANNUAL 2019

YEAR-OVER-YEAR (Dec-19 vs Dec-18)

All items (Index 2002=100)

  • Nova Scotia increased 2.2 per cent
  • Canada increased 2.2 per cent
  • Halifax increased 2.2 per cent

 Excluding food and energy (Index 2002=100)

  • Nova Scotia increased 1.6 per cent
  • Canada increased 1.8 per cent

 

 MONTH-OVER-MONTH (Dec-19 vs Nov-19)

 All items (Index 2002=100)

  • Nova Scotia decreased 0.4 per cent
  • Canada remained unchanged 
  • Halifax decreased 0.4 per cent

 Excluding food and energy (Index 2002=100)

  • Nova Scotia decreased 0.3 per cent
  • Canada decreased 0.2 per cent

 

ANNUAL

In Nova Scotia 2019, the Consumer Price Index (Index 2002=100) increased 1.6 per cent over 2018. 

In Canada 2019, the Consumer Price Index (Index 2002=100) increased 1.9 per cent over 2018. 

In Halifax 2019, the Consumer Price Index (Index 2002=100) increased 1.5 per cent over 2018.
