September 16, 2024EU AND EURO AREA TRADE BALANCE IN GOODS, JULY 2024 Month-over-month (July 2024 vs June 2024, seasonally adjusted)
In the 27 countries of the European Union, the balance of trade in goods surplus narrowed by €2.4 billion to €12.8 billion. Exports from the European Union were up 0.5% to €215.8 billion while imports grew by 1.7% to €203.0 billion.
In the 20 countries of the Euro Area, the balance of trade in goods surplus narrowed €1.6 billion to €15.5 billion. Exports from the Euro Area grew by 0.8% to €239.0 billion while imports grew by 1.6% to €223.5 billion.
The European Union surplus in goods trade with the UK expanded by €957.4 million to €14.9 billion, the surplus in goods trade with Canada grew by €264.5 million to €2.0 billion, and the surplus in goods trade with the US narrowed by €2.1 billion to €16.8 billion.
Likewise, for the subset of European Union countries that use the Euro, there was a goods trade surplus with the UK (expanded to €12.1 billion), and with Canada (expanded to €1.6 billion) and with the US (narrowed to €14.2 billion).
