Labour productivity of Canadian businesses decreased at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 1.5% from Q2 2024 to Q3 2024, following a loss of 0.5% in Q2 2024. Hours worked increased 1.9% and output was up 0.4%.
Total compensation per hour increased at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 4.0% in Q3 2024, the fourteenth consecutive increase since the first quarter of 2021. Unit labour costs of Canadian businesses increased at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 5.6% in Q3 2024.
