UK TRADE BALANCE, APRIL 2025

Month-over-month (April 2025 vs March 2025, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit grew by £3.3 billion to £7.0 billion. Exports of goods and services decreased 3.4% (£2.6 billion) to £73.4 billion and imports of goods and services increased 1.0% (£0.8 billion) to £80.5 billion.

The United Kingdom goods trade deficit widened by £3.3 billion to £23.2 billion. Exports of goods decreased 8.8% (£2.7 billion) to £28.4 billion. Imports of goods increased 1.2% (£0.6 billion) to £51.6 billion. 

The United Kingdom services trade surplus widened by £0.01 billion to £16.18 billion. Exports of services increased 0.4% (£0.2 billion) to £45.1 billion and imports of services increased 0.6% (£0.2 billion) to £28.9 billion.

 

Year-over-year (April 2025 vs April 2024, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom goods and services deficit widened by £1.3 billion. The goods trade deficit grew by £1.0 billion and the services trade surplus narrowed by £0.3 billion.

 

UNITED KINGDOM TRADING PARTNERS

Month-over-month (April 2025 vs March 2025, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom EU goods trade deficit grew by £1.5 billion to £14.6 billion. Exports of goods decreased by 4.3% (£0.6 billion) to £13.7 billion and imports of goods increased by 3.3% (£0.9 billion) to £28.3 billion. 

The United Kingdom non-EU goods trade deficit widened by £1.8 billion to £8.6 billion. Exports of goods decreased 12.6% (£2.1 billion) to £14.7 billion and imports of goods decreased by 1.3% (£0.3 billion) to £23.6 billion.

Year-over-year (April 2025 vs April 2024, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom-EU goods trade deficit widened by £1.5 billion and non-EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £0.5 billion.
