UK TRADE BALANCE, OCTOBER 2025

Month-over-month (October 2025 vs September 2025, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit widened by £3.7 billion to £4.8 billion. Exports of goods and services decreased 0.3% (£0.2 billion) to £77.0 billion and imports of goods and services increased 4.5% (£3.5 billion) to £81.8 billion.

The United Kingdom goods trade deficit widened by £3.7 billion to £22.5 billion. Exports of goods decreased 0.8% (£0.3 billion) to £31.0 billion and imports of goods increased 6.8% (£3.4 billion) to £53.5 billion.

The United Kingdom services trade surplus narrowed by £0.07 billion to £17.7 billion. Exports of services increased 0.1% (£0.05 billion) to £46.0 billion and imports of services increased 0.4% (£0.1 billion) to £28.2 billion.

 

 

Year-over-year (October 2025 vs October 2024, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit of £2.9 billion in October 2024 widened to a deficit of £4.8 billion. The goods trade deficit widened by £3.6 billion to £22.5 billion and the services trade surplus widened by £1.7 billion to £17.7 billion.

Month-over-month (October 2025 vs Septmber 2025, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom EU goods trade deficit widened by £0.2 billion to £12.3 billion. Exports of goods increased by 1.7% (£0.2 billion) to £14.7 billion and imports of goods increased by 1.7% (£0.5 billion) to £27.0 billion. 

The United Kingdom non-EU goods trade deficit widened by £3.4 billion to £10.3 billion. Exports of goods decreased 3.0% (£0.5 billion) to £16.3 billion and imports of goods increased by 12.5% (£2.9 billion) to £26.5 billion.

The United Kingdom-EU goods trade deficit widened by £1.0 billion and non-EU goods trade deficit widened by £2.6 billion.
