US construction spending increased 0.9% to $2,203.1 billion.
- Total residential construction increased 1.1% to $894.6 billion.
- Total non-residential construction spending increased 0.7% to $1,308.5 billion.
- Private sector construction increased 1.1% to $1,655.3 billion.
- Public sector construction increased 0.2% to $547.8 billion.


Private residential construction increased 1.1% to $882.3 billion, while private non-residential construction spending increased 1.0% to $773.0 billion.
Public residential construction increased 0.3% to $12.3 billion, while public non-residential construction spending increased 0.2% to $535.5 billion.
Year-to-date (January-August 2026 vs January-August 2025)
US construction spending decreased 2.9%.
