Parade Square Memorial Service - Oct. 17, 2010

On October 17, 2010 a ceremony was held to unveil the Nova Scotia Fallen Peace Officers Monument at Parade Square, Halifax. The monument lists the names of the 21 peace officers killed in the line of duty in the Province of Nova Scotia. NR&R Conservation Officers attended this ceremony to pay tribute to the three fallen officers from their department. They were joined by members of other law enforcement agencies in Nova Scotia and also dignitaries such as The Honourable Mayann Francis, Lieutenant Governor, Halifax Mayor Peter Kelly, and family and friends of the fallen peace officers. Twenty one wreaths were laid in honour and memory of the officers that made the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of their duties.
