Online Game to Inspire, Reward, Educate Nova Scotia Youth

Nova Scotia Come to life

Nova Scotia high school students have a chance to win fantastic prizes, including free tuition, and learn about career opportunities in the province, with a new online game called Mission Tuition.

The interactive game is part of a campaign designed to encourage Nova Scotia youth to investigate careers in Nova Scotia and links them directly to www.brightcareerfutures.com so they can connect with the people, programs and resources needed to develop skills and build rewarding careers in Nova Scotia.

The object of the game is to collect game pieces from each company by completing a series of tasks. Once a student completes the tasks, those in Grade 12 will qualify for one of four prizes of tuition for a year at a Nova Scotia university or college, up to $5,000. Students from grades 10 to 12 will have a chance to win one of six secondary prizes -- a MacBook laptop and five Ipod Nanos.

Mission Tuition is just one of many initiatives, programs and campaigns carried out by Nova Scotia Come to life. The goal of Come to life is to ensure Nova Scotians and others see the province's positive and powerful attributes and advantages.

It is important young Nova Scotians know that there is a future in this province and that they can find fulfilling work in Nova Scotia.
Research conducted with high school students throughout the province showed that although many students expressed an interest in staying in the province, few believed a successful career was possible.
Mission Tuition is an interactive online game that will educate our high school students about Nova Scotia success stories, providing real examples of successful businesses and to get them to think about their own career options.
The game is available only on Brightcareerfutures.com, an interactive web portal that provides information on career opportunities in Nova Scotia’s high opportunity sectors - aerospace, finance, skilled trades, IT and health.
Mission Tuition is a joint project of Nova Scotia Come to life, NSBI and Labour and Workforce Development.
