Dangerous Goods Bulk Storage, Burnside Industrial Park, Dartmouth

Description

Alpha Chemical Ltd. proposed to construct and operate a dangerous goods bulk storage, handling, blending, and packaging facility. The construction includes a secondary bulk containment system, bulk storage tanks, secondary containment pads, and a Clear Span canopy. Operations include blending, packaging, storing, shipment, handling, and transfer of dangerous and hazardous goods.

Minister's Decision

On April 11, 2003, the Minister of Environment and Labour released a decisionPDF Download Link (PDF:15k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13 (1)(b) of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act.

The undertaking has been approved subject to a number of conditionsPDF Download Link (PDF:12k). The proponent is required to obtain all other necessary approvals, permits or authorizations before commencing work on the undertaking.
