Description
On July 8, 2005, Bio-Medical Waste Disposal Inc. submitted an Environmental Assessment Registration Document for the proposed Biomedical Waste Treatment and Transfer Facility in Burnside Industrial Park, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to expand the treatment process and capacity of the existing facility on Gloria McCluskey Drive to allow for the treatment of biomedical waste from a number of facilities such as hospitals, dentist offices, and veterinary hospitals. Under the Environmental Assessment Regulations, a permanent commercial facility for the handling of waste dangerous goods is defined as a Class 1 undertaking.

Public comments regarding this project were accepted from July 8 to July 22, 2005. Comments submitted are available at the Department of Environment and Climate Change Library.
