Bond Road Sand Pit Operations

Description

On November 24, 2004, Twin Mountain Construction Limited submitted an Environmental Assessment Registration Document for a proposed Sand Pit in Kings County.

The proponent proposes to open and expand a former sand pit site (located in Waterville, south of Highway #1 and east of the Bond Road) to allow for sand and soil production, and stockpiling. The proposed undertaking is projected to begin in 2004 and operate for ten years.

Minister's Decision

On December 20, 2004, the Minister of Environment and Labour released a decisionPDF Download Link (PDF:22k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act.

The undertaking has been approved subject to a number of conditionsPDF Download Link (PDF:47k). The proponent is required to obtain all other necessary approvals, permits or authorizations before commencing work on the undertaking.
