Description
This is to advise that on November 29, 2013, Affinity Wind LP registered the Greenfield Wind Farm Project for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.
The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to provide 3.2 MW of wind power into the local distribution grid in Greenfield, Colchester County, NS. The Project will consist of two 1.6 MW wind turbines on privately owned land. Pending approval to proceed, construction is anticipated to commence winter 2014 with operations to begin in winter 2015.
Minister's Decision
On January 28, the Minister of Environment released a decision (PDF:30k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act. The undertaking has been approved subject to a number of conditions (PDF:79k).
