Description
This is to advise that on December 11, 2013, Affinity Renewables LP will register the Kemptown Wind Farm for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.
The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to provide 4.99 MW of wind power into the local distribution grid near Kemptown, Colchester County, NS. The Project will consist of three 1.68 MW wind turbines on privately owned land. Pending approval to proceed, construction is anticipated to commence in winter 2014 with operations to begin winter 2015.
Minister's Decision
On February 10, the Minister of Environment released decision (PDF:30k) a concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act. The undertaking has been approved subject to a number of conditions (PDF:77k).
