Description
This is to advise that on August 5, 2016, Celtic Current Limited Partnership registered the New Victoria Community Wind Power Project for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.
The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to develop one wind turbine, and to generate up to 2.35 megawatt of power. The undertaking is located approximately 1.5 kilometers from New Victoria, Cape Breton Regional Municipality. The project is scheduled to commence in fall 2016, with operation expected in summer 2017.
Minister's Decision
On September 20, 2016 the Minister of Environment released a decision concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act. The undertaking has been approved subject to a number of conditions.
