Retirement Care Facility Expansion, Middleton

Description

This is to advise that on July 19, 2012, GEM Health Care Group registered a project: Expansion of Retirement Care Facility, Middleton for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.

The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to expand the current long term care facility to include a 35 bed assisted living facility and 33 retirement villas in Middleton, Nova Scotia. Pending approval to proceed, the construction is scheduled for the fall of 2012, with completion in the fall of 2013.

Minister's Decision

On July 24, 2012 the Minister of Environment released a decisionPDF Download Link (PDF:27k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act.
