Nova Scotians have a cleaner, greener and more economically sustainable province because of commitments the government made in the Environmental Goals and Sustainable Prosperity Act. The Act was passed in 2007 and updated in 2012.
Most of EGSPA’s goals have been achieved. The legislation is being replaced with the Sustainable Development Goals Act which was introduced in the legislature on October 23, 2019.
