Agriculture in the Classroom – Pre-primary resources

Pre-primary teachers can apply to receive Agriculture in the Classroom activities. These activities promote learning through interactive play-based activities and a children’s book about caring for animals.

Agriculture in the Classroom resources for pre-primary classes include:

  • Little Green Thumbs package – students can make their own root viewer (individual planting pots) and living necklace (seed necklace)
  • agriculture and food story blocks to inspire creative storytelling about agriculture and food
  • “Care: How to Care for Different Types of Animals” picture book (available in English and French)

These resources are available anytime throughout the year. Teachers can request one copy of the Animal Care book for their class. The other resources can be ordered one per student.

This program is also available in French.
