Apiculture Sustainable Growth and Health Program
The Apiculture Sustainability Growth and Health Program aims to promote hive health, commercial crop pollination expansion and adoption of efficient technologies to help with labour shortages.
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must be a Nova Scotia beekeeper or Mi’kmaq conducting farming activities in a Mi’kmaw community.
Nova Scotia beekeepers must:
- be currently registered under the Farm Registration Act.
- be currently registered under the Bee Industry Act with a minimum of 10 registered hives in 2024.
- have rented hives for commercial pollination in 2025.
- be a Nova Scotia resident.
- be actively farming in the program year and the applicant must be 19 years of age or older.

Deadline or important dates
Program opening: 1 April 2026
Application deadline: 15 May 2026
Claim deadline: 28 February 2027

How to apply
Submit a complete application by the application deadline listed.
Applicants new to Programs since 2023 must complete the Program Funding Registration (PFR) form. Returning applicants are to update their PFR form as necessary.
