| It is recommended that applicants be at least 12 years old. The applicant contacts Safety Services NS and their name is placed on a list for courses and tests (or tests alone). They will be notified in advance of the next courses/tests being available. (See Where can you get ..., above, for contact information.) |

| An applicant is not eligible for this Course / Certificate if they are prohibited from possession of firearms. | ||

| This Certificate is not needed for an (Adult) Possession Only Licence. It is, however, needed for the Minor's Possession Only Licence. These courses and tests are a pre-requisite for the Atlantic Provinces Hunter Education Course (Part B). [For more information, see N.S. Department of Natural Resources - Firearm Certification for Hunters.] For information on the Canadian Firearms Act and its Regulations, visit the Canadian Firearms Program.
