Assessments were completed on software versions available at the time of the assessments.

Assessments are based on 'out-of-the box product' implementations. Custodians are responsible for completing their own assessments and are encouraged to understand any associated risks and mitigations associated with software used within their practice.

Custodian Considerations to mitigate potential risks associated with the use of assessed products have been developed and are available through DNS, NSH, IWK & Tajikeimɨk custodian representatives.

  • Healthcare providers working for and/or collaborating with the Nova Scotia Health Authority or IWK should consult virtualcare@nshealth.ca
    • for information on software approved for use in an NSHA or IWK environment, and
    • for practice supports they provide to mitigate potential privacy and security risks associated with the use of approved software in their practice.
  • For healthcare providers practicing in a private practice, it is each provider's responsibility to assess and understand the privacy and security risks associated with any software used in their practice. Doctors Nova Scotia has Practice Supports posted on their website including supports for these assessed products which can be found at https://doctorsns.com/contract-and-support/tool-kits-physicians
  • Pilot tests / Proofs of Concepts of new services may be approved for limited use – participation in these tests requires review of the associated terms and conditions for use.
