Remediation of Soils Containing Dry Cleaning Fluids

Description

Envirosoil proposed to treat soils contaminated with dry cleaning fluids and related products. Treatment to be undertaken using an existing Low Temperature Thermal Desorption (LTTD) unit at the site. The equipment to be adjusted and modified to suit the particulars of the treatment required for perchloroethylene.

Minister's Decision

On June 6, 2003, the Minister of Environment and Labour released a decisionPDF Download Link (PDF:15k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13 (1)(b) of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act.

The undertaking has been approved subject to a number of conditionsPDF Download Link (PDF:18k). The proponent is required to obtain all other necessary approvals, permits or authorizations before commencing work on the undertaking.
