Torbrook Gravel Pit Expansion

Description

This is to advise that on March 2, 2012, Ivan H. Trimper Excavating Ltd. registered the Trimper Sand and Gravel Pit Extension for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.

The purpose of this proposed undertaking is to expand the existing aggregate pit operations at Torbrook, Annapolis County beyond its initial four hectare size. This will provide an ongoing supply of sand and gravel aggregates for the local and regional construction industry, commencing immediately for a period of 30 years.

Ministers Decision

On April 20, 2012 the Minister of Environment released a decisionPDF Download Link (PDF:133k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act.
