Whynotts Community Wind Project

Description

This is to advise that on May 13, 2013 Whynotts Wind Limited Partnership registered the proposed Whynotts Community Wind Project for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.

The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to construct and operate a 4.0 MW Wind Project at a site in the community of Whynotts Settlement, approximately 5 km northeast of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia in the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg. Pending approval to proceed, construction is anticipated to commence Spring 2014 with operations to begin Fall/Winter 2014.

Minister's Decision

On July 2, the Minister of Environment released a decisionPDF Download Link (PDF:71k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act. Public comments on the Registration were accepted until June 12, 2013.
