Description
This is to advise that on July 20th 2011, WIND PROSPECT INC. registered the Fairmont Wind Farm for an environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.
The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to develop the Fairmont Wind Farm, located in the Municipality of the County of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. The project site is approximately 6 km due north of the town of Antigonish. The project will consist of two Enercon E82 wind turbines, with a total rated capacity of 4.6 MW. Project activities are scheduled as follows:
- Pre-construction activities: Fall/Winter 2011
- Construction: Winter 2011/Spring 2012
- Commissioning: Spring/Summer 2012
Minister's Decision
On September 8, 2011 the Minister of Environment released a decision (PDF:131k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act. The undertaking has been approved subject to a number of conditions
