Head of the class in sustainable construction practices
The Nova Scotia Community College educates over 10,000 students through more than 130 programs across 13 campuses in the province. As its newest campus in Dartmouth was being developed, the college decided to create the Centre for the Built Environment (CBE), which would be a model for environmental design and sustainable development.
The building contains many alternate and energy efficient technologies, offering a unique opportunity for the NSCC campus to lead by example, and to educate the next generation of construction professionals in reducing greenhouse gases. The Centre for Built Environment uses research and innovation to develop sustainable energy technology for future construction needs.
