A: Employment Nova Scotia is part of the Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration, Skills and Learning Branch. It was established in the spring of 2009 to manage the delivery of training and skills development programming funded by the Canada-Nova Scotia Labour Market Development Transfer Agreements which are, as of 2018, the Labour Market Development Agreement and the Workforce Development Agreement.
A: On July 1, 2009, the funding and people to support the delivery of Employment Assistance Services; Skill Development; Labour Market Partnerships; Job Creation Partnerships; Self Employment Benefits; and Targeted Wage Subsidy transferred from Human Resources and Skills Development Canada/Service Canada to the Province of Nova Scotia. Community Coordinator agreements under any of these programs also transferred to Employment Nova Scotia.
A: In most cases, Employment Nova Scotia staff will remain in the same physical location and will now be co-located with Service Canada. Please refer to our list of Employment Nova Scotia office locations and postal addresses.
