Acid Rain
- Canada-US Air Quality Agreement is an agreement between the government of Canada and the government of the United States of America to address shared concerns regarding trans-boundary air pollution. See also the 2012 Progress Report.
- The Canadian Air and Precipitation Monitoring Network (CAPMoN) is Environment Canada's non-urban air quality monitoring network.
- The Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) website provides links to The Canada-Wide Acid Rain Strategy for Post-2000, as well as the progress reports and research papers.
- The Canadian National Atmospheric Chemistry (NAtChem) Database and Analysis System provides access to data collected at acid rain monitoring stations in Sherbrooke, Kejimkujik National Park and Jackson, Nova Scotia.
- Environment Canada's Acid Rain website provides information on what is being done about acid rain in Canada.

- Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) is a public information tool to help Canadians protect their health on a daily basis from the negative effects of air pollution.
- Environment Canada's Clean Air website provides information about air pollution sources, their impact on air quality and your health, actions undertaken by governments and communities, and activities you and your community can adopt to help clean the air.
- E-Smog Plus is an automatic air quality notification service that delivers Environment Canada's local and regional air quality bulletins through email. Including both the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) Forecast, and Special Air Quality Statements.
- Health Canada's Air Quality website provides a wide range of information on the health aspects of both outdoor and indoor air quality.
- Natural Resources Canada, The Idle-Free Zone gives tips to help Canadians stop unnecessary engine idling in their communities.
- National Air Pollution Surveillance (NAPS) Network provides accurate long-term air quality data of a uniform standard across Canada. Nova Scotia is part of the NAPS Network.
- National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) is a database of information on annual releases to air, water and land from all sectors (i.e. industrial, government, commercial and others).
- The United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) is a federal agency to protect human health and the environment
- The Weather Network provides current air quality information for Nova Scotia.
National Air Initiatives
- The Canadian Air and Precipitation Monitoring Network (CAPMON) is Environment Canada's non-urban air quality monitoring network.
- The Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) is involved in a variety of air initiatives, including Canada-wide Standards and the new Canadian Ambient Air Quality Standards.
- The Council of Atlantic Premiers is involved in some air quality and climate change initiatives.
- National Air Pollution Surveillance Network is a joint program of the federal and provincial governments for monitoring and assessing ambient air quality.
International Air Initiatives

- The Convention of Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution was signed in 1979 and establishes a broad framework to work cooperatively on the transport of pollutants through the atmosphere and over borders, oceans and continents.
- The Conference of New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers has developed an Acid Rain Action Plan, a Climate Change Action Plan (PDF), a Mercury Action Plan (PDF), and a Transportation Air Quality Action Plan.
