A Register number is assigned to a discontinued aquaculture site after it has been assessed and approved to possibly be reallocated by the Department. Discontinued sites are existing, approved sites that are not currently assigned to a licence/lease holder. Sites listed in the registry are discontinued sites that have been assessed and approved for possible reallocation. These sites are eligible to be reassigned through a call for proposals.
Proposals will only be considered during the time period identified in a call for proposals. Unsolicited proposals for a site in the registry will not be considered. Refer to the Aquaculture Licence and Lease Regulations - Fisheries and Coastal Resources Act (Nova Scotia) for more information.
