About the Opportunity

Are you a Mi'kmaw student, looking for a summer job and an opportunity to explore the agricultural science industry? This opportunity offers both financial support and hands-on experience.

Successful applicants will receive:

  • $2,500 scholarship to support their post-secondary studies
  • paid summer internship (~$10,000 salary) with the Department of Agriculture

Eligibility

To qualify for the scholarship, you need to:

  • identify as Mi’kmaq
  • be enrolled full-time in a program at a Canadian university
  • be available to work full-time from late April to late August in the Truro/Bible Hill area
  • provide proof of enrollment before receiving the scholarship

Priority is given to applicants who:

  • are enrolled in or planning to study BSc (Agriculture) (students in other programs must show an interest in agriculture during the interview); graduate students can also apply
  • have a valid full driver’s licence

Salary

Hourly pay: $17.85 - $21.69
