Less then an hour's drive of metropolitan Halifax, the Natural Resources Education Centre is nestled in the beautiful Musquodoboit Valley.
Our outdoor programs foster a sense of stewardship and sustainable development of our natural resources. NREC is the first educational facility of its kind in Atlantic Canada.
We offer the following:
Our 80 hectare (120 acre) woodland provides opportunities for hikes, exhibits and demonstrations. Self-guided interpretive trails can be used for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or nature hikes. One of our trails is seasonally wheelchair accessible.
