Bow Hunting Education Course


Duration: 10 to 12 hours.
Fee: $40.00

The Bowhunter Instructors Association of Nova Scotia conduct the Bowhunter Education Course. The course includes instruction on ethical responsibilities of bowhunters; laws and regulations; equipment; basic survival skills, first aid, and safety; when to shoot; and hunting. Pass mark for the written test is 88%. In a practical test, students must successfully shoot three out of five arrows into a 30 cm (12 inch) circle from a distance of 13.7m to 18.3m (15 to 20 yards).

Clients must register to take a bow course at https://wrs.novascotia.ca/education/.  Applications received prior to August 1, will get into a course same fall.  Most courses are held during  September.
