Employer Registration - How to Register

Employers must apply to Labour Standards for an employer registration certificate to recruit and hire foreign workers in Nova Scotia.  There is no fee to apply.

Applying for an Employer Registration Certificate (ERC)

• The foreign worker will be employed by a business in Nova Scotia.
  Fill out an ERC-Business Form
• The foreign worker will be employed in a private home as a caregiver.
  Fill out an ERC-Private Home Form

  Submit the completed application to Labour Standards by mail, fax or by scanning and emailing it to erc@novascotia.ca.

• You are a business that uses Nova Scotia’s online service.
  Submit your application for an ERC on-line using Nova Scotia’s online service.
