The Agriculture and Food Education office provides educational programming and resources for both the public and the Nova Scotia school system.
Our primary goal is to help all Nova Scotians understand and appreciate agriculture in our province and beyond. We also raise awareness of the career and educational opportunities available in agriculture.
By raising the profile of local agriculture, we aim to strengthen the market for local products and attract young entrepreneurs to the agricultural industry.
Our office has a Program Coordinator and an Education Liaison who work closely with the industry, the school system and the public.
The Nova Scotia Agricultural Awareness Committee provides guidance for program development. This advisory board has representation from industry, rural organizations and government.
