Nova Scotia Domestic Violence Action Plan Update 2012
Domestic Violence Action Plan
On Nov. 20, 2012, Justice Minister Ross Landry announced the Transgendered Persons Protection Act. This Act makes it clear that Nova Scotians cannot be denied a job, a place to live or service at a business because they are transgender. Nova Scotia is the fourth jurisdiction in Canada to include a specific reference to gender identity in its human rights legislation.
The Department of Justice provides and houses a number of forms for the use of partners, agencies and sometimes the public. If the form you are looking for is not here, it may be located with the program, award, or other. Please try a site search (above).
Health Information Transfer (HIT) Form
The Health Information Transfer form must accompany the person in custody when they are being transported by police, corrections or sheriffs. Authority for the health officials to share health information with law enforcement personnel has been granted by the Minister of Health, and the Sharing of Health Information regulation, made jointly by the Ministers of Justice and Health, requires that persons specified on the form must complete the form.
