In August of 2015, the Minister of Natural Resources, Lloyd Hines, created a Forest Biodiversity Science Advisory Committee to enhance the management of Nova Scotia's Crown-owned woodlands.
Members of the committee have experience in biodiversity science, and their independent advice will improve government’s capacity to address complex biodiversity conservation and resource-use issues.
The committee will focus on helping government identify knowledge gaps that have to be filled for successful implementation of an ecosystem approach to forestry and forest biodiversity conservation.
