Homicide The government is increasing the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder of eight year-old Lee'Marion Cain as the case gets added to the Major Unsolved Crimes Rewards Program.
The Province will offer a reward of up to $250,000, $100,000 more than the current reward under the program. This is the first increase in the reward since 2008 and the first time a reward has been increased for information in a specific case.
A call to 911 reported that Lee'Marion Cain was suffering from a gunshot wound and was being taken in a vehicle from Windmill Road to the hospital on December 21, 2021.
The child succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the IWK Health Centre on the same day. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide.
Investigators believe people may have information they have not shared with police that could result in arrests and possible charges in relation to his death.
