The Consular Corps are representatives of over 30 countries who serve the citizens of their nations and facilitate business, trade, education, and cultural linkages with Nova Scotia. They enrich our community experience and help bring an appreciation for diversity of cultures. Nova Scotia's Consular Corps is divided into two categories: Career Consuls and Honorary Consuls. Career Consuls work to promote economic and political cooperation between their country and Nova Scotia, and provide Consular services for their nations citizens. Honorary Consular officers are local and regional citizens, most often Canadians, invited by a foreign country to represent its interests in an area or province on an honorary, unpaid basis.
