Nova Scotia Provincial Firearms Office
The Nova Scotia Provincial Firearms Office administers the federal Firearms Act, on behalf of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Canadian Firearms Program.
This includes issuing firearm licenses for individuals (including minors), firearm business licenses, as well as authorizations to transport restricted and/or prohibited firearms and authorizations to carry.
Anyone who possesses a firearm in Canada must be licensed under the Firearms Act and their restricted firearms must be registered.
The Nova Scotia Provincial Firearms Office also administers the regulations and standards for the approval of shooting ranges in Nova Scotia.

Firearms Safety Course
In Nova Scotia, the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course are managed by the Nova Scotia Provincial Firearms Office.
As of July 1, 2016, Safety Services Nova Scotia has been selected
to coordinate the delivery of these courses.
