The Collection

The Department of Natural Resources Library has an extensive collection focused on the geology of Nova Scotia. Much of this collection is unique. Some of our rare items are Nova Scotia Department of Mines Annual Reports from 1860, Geological Survey of Canada Annual Reports from 1872, and aerial photography of Nova Scotia from about 1931. We also have a collection of books and journals. We continually add to our collection.

We are also the home of all Geoscience and Mines Branch publications, maps, and Assessment Reports from 1862 to the present. New releases are available for consultation. All publications, maps and reports are sold from the Library. We do not sell topographic maps or aerial photography, but they are available for viewing.
